The cut in D-G 33 was completed to a level of 110cm. The burn layer appeared at ca.90cm in G33 then slowly dipped below the level of the excavated floor by F33, the level of bedrock likewise eppeared only in F-G33. The ubrn layer in D-E must be at a lower level than normally encountered throughout T21. the N-S series of flat surfaces stones in d-F 32 did not continue into grid 33. The burn layer in H-I-J 33-34 was excavated . Extremely thin and very few finds from this area (.5 carton of pottery). The
level below the burn was not not bedrock but a clayish yellow soil similar to that found aboce the burn.
In order to evaluate the actually continually of the stones in m 32/33 [see p.75-77, 81], a new cut outside the confines of the 30 meter Trench were begun in K-L-M 34-36. If these particularly stones do in fact constitute a wall, its E-W course will therefore be followed by this new cut. Top soil removed and cuts 2-3 taken in K-M 34, no change from previous stratigraphy.
