AM

Students began their first day on site and two groups were formed in order to begin de-backfill in the areas encompassing EPOC 4 and the previously excavated area just to the northwest of the Orientalizing Workshop. This was done to not only reveal potential early Orientalizing architecture in the area immediately to the east of T-93 but to increase visibility and aid in orientation while the excavation of the trenches commenced. Additionally, EPOC 4 will be photographed from above with the use of a drone. Dirt will be removed with pick axes, shoveled into wheel barrows or buckets and then dumped into the designated dirt dump, located approximately 20 meters to the southeast of T-93. Dirt will be removed until the plastic tarp laid down over the potential architectural features is found.
