Work continued in trench A2.  The west trench had reached a greater depth at this point, with one more workmen than the east trench.  A small piece of banquet frieze, broken in excavation, was found in the east trench at a depth of .50 m., in the middle of the trench.  Other architectural fragments found in the east trench, at depths from .5m to .70 m. were another small piece of

frieze and one of cornice.

In the west trench, at a depth of 1.0 m. (approximately), larger pieces of tile were found, and some pottery.  A small fragment of rosette was found in the north end of the trench.

A concentration of stones was found in the west trench at a depth of .60 m., approminately 1.0 m. from the north end, extending roughly 1.0 m.  south along the west side, and 2.40 m. along the east side, interrupted by a hole about .64 in diameter.  This appeared to be a single layer, resting on earth.  The stones were cleaned for photographs, and left in situ.
