Daily Log

105

Wednesday, July 25

Continued through Locus 1, more worn terracotta, small rocks, very little pottery.  Closed Locus 1 86-109cm B.D., not for soil change but because the roots are nearly gone so the soil is less disturbed.

Locus 1:

  • Terracotta: 2 latte boxes
  • Pottery: 10 pieces
  • Bone: 1 piece
  • Plaster: 19 pieces

PM

Opened Locus 2, soil is light brown, somewhat denser than Locus 1.  Terraoctta is still very worn washout material.

Terracotta: 3 1/4 latte boxes

Pottery: 1/10 latte box

Plaster: 1/6 latte box

There is a small 30cm round slight soil discoloration in NE corner.  Soil is light yellow.  It appears to be a very thin layer, since it extends into T26S but is not ivsible in the baulk wall.
