AM

The western baulk was trimmed, using a trowel, as was the southern baulk of T-58.

Special Find #1

Ridged Pottery

Locus 2

88.08E/ 38.18S

0.76m BD/ 26.81m AE

The stratigraphy in the northern baulk wall of T-58 was scraped and then scarped, using nails and neon string to clearly display the stratigraphic layers. This is because this baulk wall preserves a complete profile, from topsoil to bedrock, of the soil within the possible structure across site (the one to which the T-70 rock formation may belong.) Photos were taken and the profile will be sketched.

T-58 Northern baulk

PM

It was decided to extend the trench by 2 meters in the northeastern corner. This extension is 0.60m wide and is the area between T-58 and T-57 extensions. The soil is topsoil; very compacted, dark brown with many roots and plant matter. This extension will be Locus 4 and is equivalent to Locus 1 .

Locus 4 coordinates:

NW corner: 91E/ 37S

NE corner: 93E/37S

SE corner: 93E/ 37.60S

SW corner: 91E/ 37.60S

Locus 4 opening elevations:

NW corner: 0.41m BD/27.16m AE

NE corner: 0.34m BD/ 27.23mAE

SE corner: 0.40m BD/ 27.17m AE

SW corner: 0.48m BD/ 27. 09m AE

T-70 Extension:

The purpose forthis extension is to reveal any remaining stones of the linear rock feature. Additionally, this extension is to gauge a possible floor surface's elevation and presence. Three pick passes were completed across Locus 4 using the big pick and then hand sorting.

Locus 4 end of day elevations:

NW corner: 0.39m BD/ 27.18m AE

NE corner: 0.39mBD/27.18m AE

SE corner: 0.42m BD/ 27.15m AE

SW corner: 0.44m BD/ 27.13m AE

Locus 4 summary of finds:

Terracotta: 11 pieces (not covering the base of the bowl)

Pottery: 4 pieces

Bone: 0 pieces

Locus 2 end of day elevations:

Unchanged (no excavation conducted). See page 75

Locus 2 western baulk finds:
