One workman continued to excavate towards the south in trench 2D.  Progress was slow and work difficult due to a natural formation of small stones which encaved the fragments found.  Larger stones, which seemed to ride towards the south, were reached and left.

The following fragments were found:

A fragment of gorgon head, including the right eye and

hair, found at 1.60 m depth, 1.85 from the east wall and 4.45 from the south (find #6).

A small fragment of horse race frieze (Find #6A).

A fragment of campstool frieze with cornice, along with another small fragment of campstool frieze.  All these architectural fragments were found at a general depth of 1.30 m.

A fragment of lateral sima with lion's head waterspout, found at 1.32 m depth, 1.05 m from the east wall and 3.80 m from the south (Find #7).  Strange terracotta fragments were also found close to Find #7.

A fragment of lateral sima

with cat's head waterspout and cornice, found at 1.62 m depth in the east wall and 4.72 m from the south (Find #8).

A few bone fragments, found close to the east wall.

2 corner pieces of lateral sima.

A piece of raking sima with one rabbit and one dog, guilloche, and part of the cornice preserved, was found at 1.20 m depth, 0.40 m from the east wall and 3.37 m from the south (Find #9).

The last find of the day was a large equarian hoof in high-relief (Find #10).  Found at 1.08 m depth, 0.30 m from the east wall and 3.25 m

from the south.
