The entire trench was declared locus 6.  The soil is becoming mottled wilth orange, white and black inclusions.  There are patches of soil colored black with carbon.  Photos were taken and a pick pass started in the western end of the trench.

Excavation continued in locus 6.  The pick pass started in the morning was completed across the entire trench.  There are black burnt patches of material, especially in the northern half of \xf2the trench.  No special finds were made this afternoon.  Today, approximately 5 bowls of terracotta fragments mixed with plaster were recovered.  Approximately 6 1/2 latte boxes of pottery sherds found along with approximately 1 1/3 latte boxes of bone and teeth fragments.  Numerous small pieces of bronze and chunks of slag recovered and made bulk finds.  Several coarse ware fragments included with the terracotta count.
