Work continued in grids I/33-35. In grid I/33, another large coarseware pot was lifted. A complete profile is possible. Fine pottery is scare at this point. Heavy carbon deposits were found along with the coarse pottery.
In grid J/30-31, work continued on the meter section of foundation wall. The pottery, mostly bucchero, does not seem to match the pottery found inside room J-P/28-30. Two red plaster/burnt earth strata could be seen going through the wall.
3 cassette of tile dumped.
- Find #6
- T-19 I/33
- Red-brown coarseware pot
In grid L/27, T-18, the yellow soil stratum below the level of the top of the foundation wall was excavated to a lower depth. The area adjacent to the wall was particularly rich in fine pottery. The pottery was similar in type to the pottery found in this area earlier ( see p. 43 ) and to the pottery from room J-P/28-30.
