Area of stone packing in meters E128, S14 was cleaned and depths were recorded (90-95cm b.d.).  This area maintained the designation Locus 31.  No material was recovered.

A shallow cut was taken to the south of Locus 31 in the area of the yellowish-white soil designated Locus 30.  This soil, combined with a thin, greenish gravel, overlays a continuation of the stone packing to the north (E128, S14).  The stone packing extends south within S15 to approximately 14.30.  All the soil above the stone packing within E128, S15 maintained the designation Locus 30, while the packing itself maintained

Locus 31.  The area was levelled to approximately 95-98cm b.d.  Approximately 15 pieces of terracotta were recovered, as well as fragments of bone, 25 impasto, 1 bucchero and 26 coarseware.

A carbonized seed was named Find #1.  A cut was taken in meters E128-130, S14-15 to the east of scattered stones at approximately E127.90, S14-15.  The stones were removed in this work.  The soil was yellowish-brown with high concentrations of carbon and a few scattered roots and was designated Locus 32.  In this work several pieces of possibly Italo-Corinthian pottery were recovered (Finds #4, 5),

also a bucchero tondo (Find #3) and a fragment of coiled bronze (Find #2).  In addition a large concentration of roof tile was found in the area of E127.90-130, S14.30-.50.  The pieces included both pan and cover tile fragments.  A pan tile of 30cm x 40cm, flange fragments of 17cm and 20cm and cover tile fragments of 16cm and 18cm were noted.  A total of 17 pieces were recovered from this area, including 2 fragments with an organic material (wood?) attached (Find #6) and an unusual piece of terracotta with 3 finished sides, perhaps akroterial (Find #7).  This tile occured at an approximate depth of
