Excavation continued in locus 4.  The tile concentrations in the northwest area of the trench were lifted.  Small stones were removed from the stone concentration in the eastern center of the trench (see p. 53).  Seven special finds were made this morning.

Excavation continued in locus 4.  The trench was leveled, then the balk walls were trimmed.  Today, approximately 13 bowls of terracotta fragments were recovered.  Also, approximately 1 1/2 latte boxes of pottery sherds (mostly impasto) found along with approximately 2/3 latte box of bone and teeth fragments.  From the balk trim was recovered approximately 1/2 bowel of terracotta fragments, 9 pottery sherds, 7 bone fragments, 1 tooth and fragments of what looks like pumice.  One special find was made this afternoon.
