Excavation begins with a pick pass in the western 1 m of Locus 1. After this is completed, another full pick pass is begun in the east. To further explore the parallel, linear rocks, uncovered on the 6th, the pick pass is done deeper into the soil. For efficacy, soil is not hand-sorted as it is removed by buckets. A removal of 10 cm should clarify whether or not the arrangement is anthropogenic or natural, so work is completed quickly to achieve this goal within a few days. The western end of the southern line of rocks is located at approximately 6.93 S / 25.40 E. The eastern end of this line is at approximately 6.34 S / 26.59 E. The northern line of rocks extends from 5.98 S / 25.26 E to 5.34 S / 26.49 E.
Excavation in the east begins to reveal a lighter yellow-brown, clay-rich soil. It is compact and appears to uniformly lay beneath the darker brown topsoil. This deposit extends west as pick passes continue.
PM
The 3rd full pick pass of the trench is completed, and another begins in the east. Soil is collected by hand, albeit not finely sorted, into buckets for disposal. Since the lighter brown, clay-rich soil is still decontextualized, it is excavated as part of locus 1. Handpicks and trowels further articulate rocks and level areas of heavy root distribution around tree trunks. The bulk walls are defined with handpicks and roots are clipped throughout.
