The various loci arrange themselve into five soil types and baulk trim.

Locus 1: top soil, hummus with intricate but small-sized root system, followed by dark soil rich in organic matter; coordinates p.39; ceramic p.133.

material: bronze fragment two p.19; bronzwe fibula 2 p.27, cavetto fragment 1 p.19, lateral sima 1 p.25, terracotta 1 p.31.

Locus 2: soil is olive grey and very crumb, it is also marked by a large amount of small rocks generally smaller than fist sized, and many roots. There is a lot of worn terracotta, mostly flange fragments, ad pottery is beginning to increasethough it is also still worn; coordinates p.23; ceramic p.133.

material: terracotta three p.27, p.33, statue fragment two p. 33.

loci 3and 7: surface is light grey, but once opened the soil is olive grey, breaks up in clumps and has smaller root and fewer rocks, the soil is still crumbly though less than locus two; baulk terracotta1/16 cassetta, locus 3 coordinates p.41; ceramic p.133, locus 7 coordinates p.43; ceramic p.133.

material: one bone fragment, vessel handle six p.38, ridged cover tile one p.37, ridge pole tile two p.39. slingstones three and four p.39, five p. 39 and one on p.47.

Loci 8,9,10,12,13,14- white/light grey soil with patches that become light brown after they are removed; is hard when first uncovered, but crumbles easily; the tile spread extends across the trench at this depth, thus causing the varios arbitrary divisions of the loci. Loci 8,9 and 10 were created at the first appearence of the spread and the original plan was to excavate soley the area S88-90/E198. Once the edges of the spread weer locatede in loci 9 and 10 it was decidedto excavate locus eight, but it was divided in order to follow each edge of the spread., locus 12 for the northern edge, and locus 13 for the southern edge. Locus 14 was created to isolate the vessel with in the spread in locus 13.. Bulk terracotta is three cassetta and conflated ceramic p.133; coordinates for loci8,9,10 p.61, for locus 12 p.73, for locus 13 p.75 and for locus 14 p.83.

material: Ceramic- impasto base fourp.57, blackened pottery five p.57, tondo six p.73. Organic- seven bone fragments. Architectural terracotta- terracotta three p.57, five p.71; terracotta flange one p.71; faced plaster six p.57; ridge poletile two p.71;  vitrified ridge pole tile five p.89; pan tile one p.87; covertile four p.89, seven p.91; tile with connector flange six p.91. Other- slingstones one and three p.51; one p.55, two p.57, four p.71_;three p.89;rochetto stamped two p.89; incised two p.51, twelve baulk slinkstones.

locus 11: yellow soil with greenish tint, crumbles into fine particles, has virtually no material besides small white chalk-like stones , which are interpreted as slingstones, soil appearsto be pre-galestra. Coordinates p.63

material- 131 baulk slingstones.

Loci 4,5,6 and baulk: Loci 4,5 and 6 are a loose line of features seperating loci 3 and 7and loci 8 ffrom 9 and 10. Locus 4 is a tight group of two stumps and a rock; locus 5 is an enormous rock situated directly over the magnetic spike from the magnotometer survey, and locus 6 is another stump. These three are included in baulk trim because the trench was lowered first and then these features were removed . Plus, the stumop disturbed the soil to such a degree that the strata were virtually indistinguishable. bulk terracotta: 7/16 of a cassetta; coodinates for loci 4,5 and 6 p.41; conflated ceramic p.133.
