The total pottery recovered from T-53 was sizable despite the lack of burn stratum. There was a surprising amount of coarseware found throughout the trench, most notably a handle with a finished edge (pg 85, 20090196). The majority of pottery, however, was impasto. Very little fine impasto or bucchero was recovered this season in any stratum.
The majority of material was recovered from Locus 6 and the equivalent Locus 9, unlike Locus 5 which yielded nothing and Loci 2, 3, 7, and 8, which produced very little material, pottery included.
Virtually no datable pottery was recovered, though Locus 4 produced 13 pieces of slipped impasto (pg 37) and a stamped oinochoe knob fragment (pg 35, 20090108). Additionally, Locus 6 uncovered 5 pieces of slipped or painted pottery (pg 69, 73) and the aforementioned finished coarseware handle.
