This morning began by finishing a 10 cm cut in N1W11 and leveling meters N1W12, N1W13 and N2W11-12. In addition to this, meters N4W13-14 were cleaned by brushing the surface gently to expose more of the tile fragments and stones situated in the soil that may constitute a feature. An additional 5 cm cut was taken off extending west.
There is a high concentration of tile fragments in this area, as well as some pottery pieces that seem to be positioned in almost a semi-circular shape. There is no change in soil color or consistency at this point in time in this area. (meters N4W13-14). All pottery and tile that were recovered in these two meters were put in a separated cassetta box and latte box.
There were approximately 45 tile fragments (1-5cm) that came from this area and 6 sherds
of pottery consisting of one piece of bucchero, 1 piece of creamware (possibly modern), 2 orangeware, and 3 pieces of impasto (box 1). The pottery that was uncovered in the rest of locus 1, N1-2W11-12, consisted of 1 pieces, 1 piece of coarseware, 9 impasto, 1 orangeware, and 5 pieces of bone, unworked, and 25 pieces of tile fragments (1-5 cm) very worn.
Work came to a halt early due to rain. The finds today included 3 pieces of chert and one iron nail, most likely modern.
