Boxes of pottery 3
Boxes of tile 2
Digging resumed today in an area 4 m long, G-J and 3 m wide, 8-10. Earth was removed down to a dark, burnt layer of soil which rests upon sporadic patches of rock packing. What appears to be a wall running east to west resides in area H-8/9. A piece of bronze fibula was found afove this packing in H-8. Occasional bits of bone and three "strawberry" boxes of coarse-ware fragments were found.
Area D-G was excavated in order to remove a small spur of earth. A chunk of terracotta brick was found wedged among small packed stones in this section. Fragments of coarse-ware pottery were also found.
No distinct evidence of lower building foundations have been found in either area today.
