An area 3 m long, D-F and 2 m wide, 7-8 was excavated down to rock packing. Section D-8 contains a layer of red plaster top soil. This is the same layer revealed in the cross-section of earth in D-10 ( see p. 12, first paragraph ). A layer of dark brown soil intermixed with carbon rests upon the patches of rock packing approx. 30 cm from the surface of the soil. The only entered "find" of the day was a bucchero spindle whorl found in sector E-8 above the rock packing.
A second slice 1 m wide, 7 and 3 m long, A-C reveals a layer of plaster chunks near the surface of the soil. A small indistinct piece of bronze was found in D-8.
Pottery found in both areas included some bone, coarse-ware rims and occasional bits of bucchero.
