The topsoil along the divider in P-T/80 was removed and a cut was made to expose the floor through meters T-R/80.  The soil below the topsoil was reddish and contained tile, while that just above the floor level appeared more gray-white and chalky.  A cut to ~40 cm was made along the divider in meters Q-P/80.  This soil below the topsoil appeared to be brown, red, and

contained tile.  The next cut to the floor level at ~60 cm, displayed much redder soil with a great deal of plaster intermixed.  Carbonized wood and bronze fragments were found.  Tile was also present in the cut just above the floor.  The soil was carefully checked for ivory in wheelbarrows.

A large flat stone, incorporated into the floor, was uncovered in P/80 at ~55 cm in depth.  The floor level here is ~60 cm in depth.  Note that this stone is 2.80 m (center to center) from the stone in Q/77 and 2.80 m (center to center) from the stone in R/81 (center to center).

Work continued in R/75 and T-S/75-74 with dental tools.  A fragment of ivory guilloche was uncovered in R/74 at a depth of ~40 cm.  The area around this fragment was further excavated with a dental tool.  Bits of plaster, carbonized wood, and stone were found in the immediate surrounding area, also at ~40 cm.  Before excavating the area deeper with a dental tool, it was drawn.  The wood, stone, etc. will then be able to be removed. See drawing on p. 191 .

The large stones in meters P-Q/81-82 were determined to be random due to the presence of soil and tile beneath them (this soil and tile was also above the floor).  Furthermore, no distinct patter to the stones could be discerned.

Removal of the stones revealed a large concentration of tile at ~30-40 cm.  These tiles were cleaned down with mestaline after the initial layer was removed.  During the cleaning down, ivory was discovered.

The entire trench was swept and made ready for photographing.  A pan tile fragment with fingermarks was found.  A great deal of small bone was also found.
