The stones in the south half of trench 2D were cleaned.
In the afternoon, a large chunk of earth was knocked loose from the area of concentrated stones in the north end of 2D, in which a large terracotta fragment, not yet identified, was found at 1.35 m depth, 1.70 m from the east wall and 3.00 m from the north wall. Find #13.
Work was discontinued in trench 2D for 6 days.
Photographs and measurements for trench plan and profile were taken during the next few days.
To clarify the unusual variety of stratum levels in the east wall of trench 2D, a one-meter section of the wall was selected; small cuts were made between the levels to accentuate the divisions of the strata. The strata numbered 7 and {number not noted} were designated as A1, A2, B1, B2, B3, C1, and C2. Only the general level of A, B, and C were designated in the profile.
