The weather this morning is clear and sunny and is forecast to be very warm.

Opening Elevations:

NW: 27.27 m. AE

NE: 27.39 m. AE

SW: 27.03 m. AE

SE: 27.15 m. AE

The morning began with a pick pass begun in the 3m x 1m strip running along the western wall. Methodology will remain the same as yesterday. Dirt will be broken up with pick axes and shoveled into buckets, which will be sorted in a wheelbarrow. The sorted dirt will then be dumped at the same designated dirt dump. Definition of the rocks that align with the feature in T-76 and T-66 located in the baulk wall will be done while excavation of Locus 8 continues. Once the dirt from that pick was cleared, another pick was thrown through the following 3m x 1m strip pulling back to the east. Once that pick was cleared, another pick was done through the 3m x 1m strip running along the eastern wall. One the loose dirt from that pick was sorted, a new pass began, starting at the western wall, pulling east. Once that pick was complete, another pick was thrown through the middle 3m x 1m extent of the trench. While picking, a piece of bronze (Special Find #1) was found.

Locus 8

Large amounts of tile and pottery are present in the picked soil. Locus VIII continues to be full of large and small roots and large and small rocks. Once the loose dirt was cleared, another pick was done through the 3m x 1m strip running along the eastern wall. Once the loose dirt from that pick was cleared, another pass was begun through the extent of Locus 8 starting at the western wall. Once the loose dirt from that pick was cleared, another pick was done through the 3m x 1m

middle extent of the trench. While clearing the dirt, a sherd of incised pottery (Special Find #4) was found.

Locus 8

After the soil from that pick was cleared, another pick pass was begun through the extent of the locus, beginning at the 3m x 1m strip running along the western wall. Once that pick was cleared, another pick was thrown through the 3m x 1m

extent through the middle of the trench. Once the soil from that pick was cleared, another pick was thrown through the 3m x 1m strip along the eastern wall. The soil continues to be full of roots and rocks and large amounts of pottery and large tile. Once the dirt from that pick was cleared, another pick was thrown through the 3m x 1m strip starting at the west wall, pulling east. Once the loose dirt from that pick was cleared, another was thrown through the 3m x 1m middle extent of the trench. Once the dirt from that pick was clear, another pick was done through the 3m x 1m strip running along the east wall. Definition of the rocks and stump between T-66 and T-76 where the baulk wall was taken out continues. Rocks that align with the large feature in the southern extent of T-76 and the middle extent of T-66 have been found where the baulk wall was and have defined. The floor of the trench will be leveled and roots will be clipped while baulk walling is completed in

an effort to clean up the trench. While leveling the floor, a piece of bronze (Special Find #12) was found.
