Work began by triangulating and stringing off a 3 x 3 meter trench, which shares a 1.5 meter baulk on the westernmost line of T 79 and easternmost line of T 77 , along with a 1 meter baulk on T 79's easternmost line and T 78's westernmost line. The trench was cleared of all detritus and organic material and the roots were either clipped or sawed down. Once the trench was cleared, opening photos were taken and locus 1 was declared across the entire trench.

Locus 1 consists of a dark brown topsoil containing rocks and organic material with a few pieces of surface found terracotta tile. Opening elevations were taken and will be taken in a clockwise formation as follows.

NW: 11 cm BD / 27.38 m AE

NE: 112 cm BD / 27.80 m AE

SE: 122 cm BD / 27.70 m AE

SW: 30 cm BD / 27.19 m AE

In 2014, due to an error in the coordinates of the grid, all 2014 trenches were 1 degree off, approximately 20 cm. Therefore in 2015, all trenches will be on new coordinates, which was reshot on a new baseline.

The datum for T 79 will be located approximately south-west of the trench and is at an absolute elevation of 27.49 m. However, due to the slope of the trench, elevations in the western half were taken using a datum roughly at an elevation of 28.92 m. After opening elevations were taken, a pick pass began moving

north to south along the eastern half of the trench in a meter wide swath. The soil was picked up using shovels and was sorted into a wheelbarrow. This method was chosen due to the location of the trench, which is on an old dirt dump, covering the entire eastern half of the trench. Due to the slope, pick passes will be doubled for each meter section until the eastern half becomes more level with the west. Several pieces of worn terracotta tile and a few pieces of pottery are continuing to be recovered throughout locus 1 . A total of 3 pick passes were completed during the morning.

Work in the afternoon began by shoveling and sorting the soil turned up by the pick before lunch. Once the loose soil was sorted, pick passes began again in the western half of the trench moving north to south in meter wide areas. A good amount of tile continues to

be recovered and a very small amount of bone. In the easternmost half of the trench a frieze plaque fragment was recovered.

A total of 2 pick passes were completed in the afternoon. Near the end of the day, a possible cavetto fragment was found near the southern edge of the trench.
