  • Center: 87cm BD - approximate center of the trench

Soil gray/brown claylike- difficult to pick through - lots of roots from the tree and two root patches. Did pseudo-pass in trench to level out unevenness resulting from the claylike soil. None of the students had taken elevations before so we took some to teach them how and see if the elevations are leveling out, even though it is in the middle of a locus. Elevations are NW: 88cm Below Datum Point, SW: 77cm BD, SE: 62cm BD, and NE: 87.5cm BD. Elevations are levelling out better considering the inexperience of all the students. Did second pick pass of the afternoon and cleaned up all the loosened dirt- taught students how to work on baulk walls.
