Began work by making a pickpass, starting from the northwest corner.  Soil remains dark brown and full of rocks and roots, but some discoloration from root rot and around the roots of stumps was present.  After the first pick pass, some time was spent removing the smaller stumps and then a second pick pass was made.  Soil continues to be shoveled directly into the wheelbarrow where it is sorted.  The last hour before lunch was spent lowering the corners and evening the areas around the stumps.

Another pick pass was made.  Soi is still dark in color with an abundance of rocks.  The last forty-five minutes were spent working on the baulk walls and cleaning up excess dirt.  Closing elevations were taken at the end of the day as follows:
