Excavation this morning began with preparing the trench for photos. The majority of the bottom of the pipe has been exposed and the next step is to trim the baulk and to finish the excavation of the very bottom of the pipe which seems to be comprised of tiles that are laying flat on the surface. For the moment these will be kept in place and potentially photographed in-situ. At this level there are definitely more materials present than in previous loci/elevations. There are many sherds of pottery that are well preserved as well as multiple fragments of bone. Baulk walling has been completed and the tiles resting at the bottom of the pipe have been kept in place. These will be photographed in-situ and then lifted out of the trench.

After in-situ photographs have been taken, the terra cotta tiles were lifted and set aside. Light scraping of dirt present below the tiles was done before work was halted for the day to allow for photos to be taken tomorrow morning.
