August 2, 1966

Bedrock was reached throughout the trench at depths of 150 to 175 cm.  Two pieces of frieze found at 155 cm.

Civitate A2 additional finds are on p. 59 .

Tesoro 3

A two by five meter trench on a roughly north-south axis was cut.

In the northern half of the trench, heavy rock stopped digging at 5 cm.  In the southern half, about 20 ppieces of small worn tile were found before virgin soil appeared at 10 cm.  Digging was continued down to 30-40 cm and then stopped.

Tesoro 4

A two-by-five meter trench was cut.

Topsoil was taken off the southern half with yield of about a box of tile and one fragment of cornice (worn, three strigils).
