Topsoil was removed from N/9-12. A second cut to c. 15 cm was made in L-M/9-12 and N/12. Stumps in the middle of the trench prevented a straight eastern baulk. Soil in this second cut was brown, as that above it. Worn terracottas and minimal pottery were found. One piece of slag came up in L-M/9.
A third cut was begun to c. 25 cm below the surface. A lump of bronze came up in L/9. Soil in the third cut became light brown in L/12. In L/9, soil was still dark however. L/12 produced nothing.
The third cut in L/9-10 produced several pieces of pottery, including fragments that on preliminary appearance include redware, coarseware, and impasto. Soil seems to become lighter in these meters too at the bottom of the cut.

Another cut was made in L/10-12. Galestra was encountered and picked through to a depth of c. 50 cm. Rocks were encountered at this level. L/10 is at 50 cm while L/11-12 are lower due to the hill's slope. Work has stopped in this area.
