Wednesday, July 27

Work began at the 75cm depth in B/2.  The soil was too wet to remove the pottery uncovered in the morning.

Excavation in the afternoon progressed into grid C/1-2 at a one meter depth.  Varying fragments of coarseware and undecorated bucchero are more frequent.  The layer is heavily carbonised and assumes a yellowish sandy character in C-1.
