The cut in K-L/65 was continued to a depth of ~60 cm bd. A rock pack was encountered as drawn above. Several large rocks were directly east of the stump, most of the other rocks are smaller. Many of the rocks disintegrate on contact. This was the case in the area of K/65. Some rocks are present in the baulk that is west of K-L/65, thus the larger may be there at a deeper level. In this cut 1/4 latte box of mostly bone and some pottery was found and about 1/10 cassette of tile.
The soil itself was filled with roots, but fairly loose. K/67-68 was taken down to 92 cm bd. In this cut the soil remained the same plastery matrix of yesterday with areas of localized burnin the lowest layer. In this cut several small pieces of misc bronze were found and a rock that may have been worked. 1/2 latte of pottery and 1/2 cassette of tile was recovered. Work continued, light picking and mesting in K/69-70/ The soil was burned black and there was a heavy concentration of charcoal, 2 lattes of pottery were recovered. Very little tile or plaster. The depth is ~135 cm bd. A piece of vitrified tile was brougth down (#1). L-M/^%-66 was brought down to a depth of 73 cm. The soil contained mostly roots and rocks. Packed in between the rocks were a cavetto frag (#2) and what may be a cut out akroterian (#3) {#3 discarded} The cut in K/67-68 was taken to 104 cm bd. Black soil with pockets of red burn. A full box of pottery and bone was recovered. Litlle tile was found in this layer. A worked stone (#4) was found. In some areas the soil was a yellowish plaster layer.

We continued the cut in K-L/65-66. Took out the stump on the west side. 3/4 latte of pottery and 1/4 cassette of tile and pithos was recovered. The soil was the same as in the morning with a heavy concentration of rocks and stones. The cut in K/67-68 produced K/69-70, this produced 1 latte of pottery and virtually no tile. This was a heavy burn layer with impasto and coarseware and fineware including bucchero, as well as much bone, most of which was burned. A small frag, possibly ivory, was recovered too. From K/67-68 a few mixed pieces of pottery & bone and several pieces of tile were recovered.
