Handpicks and trowels were used to expose more of Locus 9 in the corners of the area of excavation where elevations are higher. Locus 8 continues to be a dense and compact yellow brown silty clay. Small to medium sized rocks continue to occur throughout the area of excavation with larger rocks occurring only in the northwest corner between two tree stumps and in the southeast corner along the eastern edge of the extension. Small to medium sized roots are being encountered throughout the area of excavation with larger roots being concentrated in the northeast and northwest corners. Abraded pieces of terracotta and coarseware continue to be found throughout the area of excavation. More medium to large sized roots can be seen as more of Locus 9 is exposed. Handpicks and trowels continue to be used to remove Locus 8. Small to medium sized rocks continue to be found throughout the area of excavation along with abraded pieces of terracotta and coarseware.

After lunch, handpicks and trowels continue to be used to expose more of Locus 9 around the southern baulk wall and the large root clusters in the northern corners of the extension. The remnants of Locus 8 continue to be a dense and compact yellow brown silty clay. Abraded pieces of terracotta and coarseware continue to be found along the southern baulk wall as well as the northeast and northwest corners. Small to medium sized roots continue occurring throughout the area of excavation as well as small to medium sized rocks with larger rocks only occurring in the northwest and southeast corners of the area of excavation. An axe was then used to cut through the largest root cluster in the northeastern corner of the extension which allowed for excavation and hand sifting of the remaining Locus 8 in the area. Handpicking and troweling continued until the end of the day in an effort to expose Locus 9 in the corners where the larger root clusters had been removed. At the end of the day, closing elevations were taken.
