Excavation of B-H, 11-12 was concluded.
Three boxes of tiles were dumped from this area.
This area produced a large quantity of fragments of tile with letters- listed separately below (page ). The western section of the trench continued a large mass of bedrock, worked to form a fairly evenly sloping surface. The line of orange plaster pavement noted above (e.g. p. 59 & p. 69 ) continued throughout this extension. The same two strata mentioned on page 71 were also present as was the "trench-like" configuration of the yellow earth (and in this case worked bedrock) underlying the two productive strata. For a section of this area see the profiles on the facing page (p. ).
A two metre extension to the north was laid out (B-H, 13-14) and excavation was begun. The area included in squares B & C, 13& 14 was very productive of fragments of sima, frieze, and statue fragments. 4 boxes of labelled finds and one of pottery were sent down from the afternoons work. Especially notable among the finds were:
