Much of the trench is wet due to rain. However the soil in the Eastern portion of Locus 3 is mostly dry. We will use the big pick to lower this section of the locus until we reach the decaying rock layer.

The rock ridge from Locus 1 is being removed. The soil around this is compacted with many small and medium sized rocks on top of one another. The soil is still a light brownish colour and slightly claylike in texture.

Pick passes continued in the Eastern half of Locus 3 . The rock ridge was removed revealing light gray soil with pockets of yellowish soil.
