Work today started with clearing area east of CA42N since it has been decided to extend the trench eastward . Then a topsoil cut was started in meters N12-15 W7 to the depth of excavated locus 7. The new meters were designated locus 9. The soil was olive bown with a thin organic humus layer on the top, containing numerous roots and small rocks. Rocks were very abundant in meter N15W7 where a large outcropping of what appears to be bedrock was uncovered. Material recovered from locus 9 included 47 tile pieces, most badly worn but fairly large; 5 pieces of plaster, 2 creamware, 6 impasto and 10 redware(including 2 handles) fragments. Also a small green worked chest was found.
