Earth was removed from around the Eastern half of the feature to a depth of_____
Then the stones and dirt were lifted - 3 layers of this rough coursing were removed from the Eastern half of the feature; many of the stones were large and very irregular in shape. Next, the fill in the center of the feature was removed - the fill consisted of a slightly darker, finer earth than that of the higher levels, and had a large number of smaller stones in it and a few sherds. Sent Down:
