June 22, 1978

The morning began with cleaning of the surface of the north slope bared by the bulldozer on Saturday.  The cleaning covered the area A-C 6-15.  The burned layer penetrates the remaining balk and the cleaning yielded two cassette of tile and scattered pottery fragments from that layer.  Directly below, the fine-grained yellow soil contacted below the burned layer in T-17 occurs.
