Pottery Summary
Pottery Summary: 6/7/2001 - 7/12/2001. CD9, Loci 1-19
CD9 produced a fair amount of pottery sherds, more than one owuld expect from simple washout. As detailed on the following pages, more than 3/4 of the pottery was simple black/gray/brown impasto. More than half of hte pottery came from Locus III, what appears to be an ancient surface associated with the distribution of rocks (the "wall"). The highest concentration was found in an approximately diagonal spread in meters 273-275S/272-273E and 273-275S/270-272E.
Although several diagnostic pieces were found, no complete profiles were recovered. The fragments in general reataiend sharp ancient breaks, suggesting that they did not move far from the primary context.
