Excavation was carried out today in grids G,H/1-7 and A-G/0.

Work in G-H/1-7 incolved cleaning down the bulk of earth and stone obscuring the line of stones, possibly a wall, which begin an east-west run in grids H/6-7.  When this area was cleared, the result was an irregular saw of stones approx. 1.50 m from the south defense wall which lacks the uniform structure of the other defense walls.

The yellow soil between the south defense wall and the row of stones was excavated another 20 cm at which point a burn layer 15-20 cm thick was uncovered and half excavated.  The yellow soil produced 1 box of coarseware sherds and a bronze frag., possibly a cutting tool.  A box of coarseware sherds and several finer fragments of pottery came out of the burn layer in grids G-H/5-6-7.

Most importantly, a wall running parallel to the defense walls and connecting to the south defense wall was uncovered in grids A-G/0.  The wall is uniformly 1m40 thick and is composed predominantly of very large stones - presently only a single course high.
