Note: all references in the day entries are to rectangle 19. It should be Rectangle 22, as it appears in the finds and catalogue cards.
Rectangle 12
The area of Rectangle 12 is defined by foundation walls forming a square roughly 7 meters in width. Rec 12 lies immediately to the south of the entrance in the western flank of the upper building which is defined by the two mounds of earth preserveing mud-brick walls. The southern half of Rec. 12 contains the "Buco del Tesoro".
Excavation in Rec. 12 for the 1977 season is a cintuation of the work initiated by Mark Fullerton in 1976. (see Fullerton: Book One, p. 154 )
) We can expect to find bucchero fragments with stamped decoration on the basis of last years work, as well as unusual course ware shapes. (seeAt present evidence of the foundation of the lower building incovered by fullerton is Rec. 10 is lacking in Rec 12.
