Excavation continued in Locus 5 moving from east to west. The dark grey carbon included soil was loosened with hand picks and sorted into buckets. There were frequent inclusions of bone, pottery, and vitrified plaster particularly in the same area near the north baulk where Locus 4 had the highest concentration of vitrified materials. Plaster and tile were present as well in lesser amounts. As the layer was scraped down it began to appear that there is a depression in the area sloping down to the west. Before this could be explored further, however, excavation had to cease for the day due to rain.
