The northesast portion of the trench was picked and the dirt sorted into buckets. The dirt remains dark with teracotta and charcoal inclusions and large pockets of plaster. A spindle whorl was found (
). After the soil was cleaned and sorted, the tile fall continued to be defined and the area surrounding the fall was trowelled in search of more tiles. The soil surrounding the tiles is dark but slightly more orange and in places, especially toward the southern end of the trench around the tiles, the soil feels sandy.PM
The tiles continued to be defined and the area around trowelled, in order to search for more tiles. While trowelling, a portion of a base of a cooking vessel was uncovered (
). In addition, what looks like a cover tile with a hole in it ( ) and a portion of an akroterion ( ) was found.Locus 6
