We finished the cut that was started yesterday in meters 51S 165E. In this small cut which finished locus 5, we recovered 1/16 cassetti terrcotta but mostly plaster. We also found 7 sherds of pottery and a few fragments of bone, as well as apprx 20 frags of bronze.
After this cut was finished and the florr was swept and levelled, locus 6 was defined. Locus 6 is characteristically heavy in plaster and carbon and the soil is a medium brown.

The first cut into locus 6 was started in meter 50S 167E. The area zielded no bronze, but a greater amount of pottery. This cut was extended into meters 51S 167E and 50S 166E by break.
July 27, 2000 continued

The cut was extended into meter 51S 166E. Meters 50S 166E and 51S 166E yielded a greated quantity of bronze than meters 50S 167E. By the end of the day, the cut was taken throughout meter 50S 166E and half of meter 51S 166E, and the trench was taken down to a depth of about 108-110 cm bd. This cut will be extended though the rest of the trench during the next working day. About 3/4 cassetti of terracotta and plaster was recovered from locus 6 and 3/4 latte box of pottery. 15-20 frags of amprphous bronze fragments were also recovered.
