Recleaned bones from Box 3 by the method suggested by E. Nielsen. It is necessary to rub gently as bones are fragile, especially on the edges.

by the same method.

In order to remove the dirt from the humerus shaft, had to slowly drip water-alcohol(50:50) solution into the opening and then wipe with cutips. Will have to do this procedure again, but it must dry thoroughly.

Photographed Box 5, Bones A and B of Tomb 5: BG 82-2, shots 5-11.

Removed bones A and B from earth, cleaned them, and let dry. Took samples of soil which was directly underneath the bones.

Note: the soil in all the boxes of tomb 5 makes excellent impressions of bone, both exterior and interior. Often after the bones ins disintigrated, nothing is left but this "mold".

Procedure for cleaning bone A:

  1. Wet interior earth using a nasal spray bottle filled with the alcohol-water solution.
  2. Take a dental pick along the edges - wait.
  3. Dirt is removed.
  4. Cut roots and rootlets with nail scissors. (One large root was found).

Evening

Finished dirt removal from Bone A and let it dry.
