Today the topsoil in grids A, B,C/ 4.5 was cleared further to reveal the preserved top of the defensive wall. To the east in grids A,B,C/3 and 4 falling stone from the wall fills the trench. The original width of the wall- approximately 90 cm. is well preserved. The western flank of the eastern wall was worked on, revealing a well preserved wall of rough stone which leans at a slight angle to the east. A small amount of pottery was removed at a depth of 50cm. next to the west flank of the wall, and fragments of cavetto from raking sima and a banquet frieze plaque were found.
By noon the western plaque were found eastern wall had been exposed to a depth of 90 cm. The top of the western wall has yet to be exposed, yet we expect it to be in grid 8.
