A pick pass was done of the northern meter of the trench. Some pottery and very little terracotta was found. A piece of slag was also found in the northwest corner, the first piece of slag found in the northern meter of the trench. Starting in Locus 2 , every third bucket of dirt removed from the trench is given and additional sort through a sieve to determine if significant amounts of material are being missed in hand sorting. A significant amount of rocks are appearing in the northern meter, particularly in the northeast. A pick pass is done in the southern meter of the trench. Only very small pebble sized fragments of terracotta are found, in very small quantities. Ample pottery and bone are being uncovered, though. A metal fragment, possibly a nail, is found just to the south of the large rock (Special Find #1). Metal rivlets are also found about 40cm south of that point (Special Find #2). A piece of worked chert (Special Find #3) was found in the sieve sifting for this pick pass. A pick pass was also done in the southwestern square meter/quarter of the trench. Other areas of the trench are yielding enough rock to prevent further picking at this time. The pick pass on the southern meter continues to reveal pottery, slag, and bone, but very little terracotta, and in very small pebble-sized fragments. A piece
of vitrified terracotta (Special Find #4) was found in the sieved bucket.
