Began exploring the extent of the deteriorating rock near the southeast corner. Using a pick the soil around it was removed and then troweled to see if more of the pocket would be revealed. More is appearing in the area of the southeast corner. In cleaning, found a piece of worked chert.

Picking done in the southwest corner to see if the deteriorating rock extends that way. Soil sorted and cleaned from the trench. Soil consistent with Locus 2 , but not deteriorating rock found underneath. May indicate there was a deeper ancient slope there. This area is also the area of the largest tree stump, which may indicate more soil there above

the bedrock. Leveling continued to be done in the southeast corner. One more piece of worked chert found in that corner.

Another pick pass done in the southwest corner. Still becoming more loosely packed, and deteriorating rock may be appearing soon. Dirt sorted and cleaned, terra cotta and pottery found still, but in small quantities. Deteriorating bedrock found in the southwest corner. Pick pass done around that area, pulling back to see where the deteriorating rock extends. Also picking north of the southeast corner bedrock to see if deteriorating bedrock extends to the north. Simultaneously cleaning out tree stumps and roots in the southern most meter in order to remove them.

Also extending north from the southwest corner to continue exploring the extent of the bedrock. Small amounts of terra cotta and pottery being recovered from the Locus 2 soil as it is sorted and cleaned from the trench. One stump and several roots removed from the southernmost meter. Continued picking towards the north from the southeastern corner in a two and a half meter wide area of the fourth to third meter from the southern wall. Soil sorted and cleaned from the trench. Also pick axing backwards in the meter wide area from the southwestern corner around the large stump. One area near the center of the trench not finding the deteriorating rock but are finding rock and terra cotta packed together in the Locus 2 soil, including a ten to fifteen centimeter fragment of flange. The rocks and terra cotta may be due to bioturbation from a stump that overlaid the area. Continuing to pick axe in the eastern two and a half meter

wide area, pulling back towards the northern wall. Picking done again between the large stump and the western wall. Soil removed remains consistent with Locus 2 soil, and when removed reveals deteriorating bedrock. In cleaning, found one piece of worked chert.

Continued to pull back the soil in the southeastern side of the trench towards the northern wall. Picking simultaneously done in the area between the stump and the western wall. Soil sorted and cleaned from the trench, remaining consistent with Locus 2 , and revealing deteriorating rock beneath. Terra cotta and pottery being recovered from the cleaned soil. One piece of terra cotta fragment with finger impressions recovered.

Also found another fragment of worked chert in the northeastern section during cleaning.
