A.M.

Checked Bone A (Box 5) femur: it is hard and was successfully treated with the PVA emulsion! Turned the bone over several times to ensure drying.

The 4 bones which have been treated with the PVA emulsion are now resting on the back of the work table, labeling card next to them and their fragments bagged with a label in the bag.

  • Bone A - Box 5 - Femur
  • Bone B - Box 5 - Femur
  • Femur - Box 1 - to be called Bone 1
  • Bone A - Box 4 - Humerus

Placed the remaining skeletal material from Box 1 on the work table:

  1. Isolated fragments
  2. Bone-on-rock -- to be known as Bone 2 from this point.

Awaiting from Chris the enlarged pohotos of Tomb 5 skeletal material.

Box 1: Recleaned with alcohol-water solution (50:50) especially the edges - with cotton swab on a toothpick and clean cotton to rub off dirt and a pin-vice to scrape.

The material is very fragile and tends to flake.

The material seems to be one bone, a femur. Have found several pieces which join between Bone 2 (the "bone-on-the-rock" and the separate fragmentary material (which had been loose in Box 1 which I first saw the material).

P.M.

Found 2 pieces which join femur Bone 1 from Box 1. Glued the 2 pieces together and placed them next to Bone 1. These will probably have to be PVA treated before gluing them to the bone.

Continued to try and piece together Bone 2 (Box 1).

Still awaiting photos.
