The pottery of T28 N from the 2003 season was plentiful, but it was also very mixed.  The finer, presumably Orientalizing Period bucchero pottery, for example, was found in the same contexts as the Archaic period bucchero.  Most of the sherds collected show a high degree of wear, probably due to water.  This made many sherds difficult to recognize as diagnostic or undiagnostic and also as to their fabric.  The strata were not arranged chronologically according to their pottery, and there were medieval sherds in the two lowest strata.  These factors strongly support the theory, put forth in JAD II, p. 103 , that the area of T28 is an erosional deposit.
