Work began with picking, in order to remove the remaining soil from Locus 4 and expose the decomposing rock soil throughout the trench. Once this was done, the trench was cleaned in preparation for declaring Locus 5. Opening photos were taken and Locus 5 was declared.

Locus 5 is defined by a more yellowish, flaky soil that resembles decomposing bedrock. There are two significant stone deposits reaching up as far as Loci 3 or 4 , one in the northwest square meter of the locus, and one in approximately the center of it. It was decided to pick into this soil to confirm that the
trench continues producing little to no material before it is officially pronounced sterile soil. After three passes with no material found, it was decided to clean up the loose soil and trim the baulk in preparation for closing the trench.

Trench cleaning and baulk trimming continued. When this was finished, closing elevations were taken and material counted. Closing photos were taken.
