AM

Photos taken.

Northern baulks in meters E128-130, S14-15 and E128-131, S11-12 were photographed after having been drawn July 21.

Continued to define and level area within meters E128-131, S11-12.  Soil remained consistent with descriptions of Locus 37 - yellow moist soil with heavy concentrations of carbon - and maintained that designation.  Work produced 1 bucchero fragment (Find #1) and a piece of iron (Find #2), as well as 26 pieces of terracotta and 1 latte box of ceramic and bone.  Area was levelled to 85-90cm b.d.

Cut was taken in meters E131-2, S9-10.  Soil remained consistent with descriptions of Locus 39 and maintained that designation.  The area was levelled to apprxomately 75cm b.d.

AM continued

Work yielded 96 pieces of terracotta, 28 fragments of plaster and 2 1/2 latte boxes of ceramic/bone.  In addition 3 pieces of ridged impasto (Finds #5, 6, 7), a bronze rivet (Find #3) andf a piece of possibly worked chert (Find #4) and a rochetto(Find #8) were recovered.  Area was levelled to approximately 75cm b.d.
