Trench Layout
The boundaries of T-87 were laid out from a baseline of 42S (the southern baulk wall of T-82), which was in turn initially laid out using a baseline shot with the transit off the grid point PC 1 and a series of steps to 74E/37S from which a local baseline was established. Using triangulation, a four by two meter trench was established with the northwest corner at a location of 71E/47S .
The coordinates of the four corners of T-87 at the start of the 2016 season are as follows:
NW corner: 71E/47S
NE corner: 75E/47S
SE corner: 75E/49S
SW corner: 71E/49S
A datum point of 26.63m A.E. was established on a tree one meter east of T-87.
