The tile concentration in meters D_E/71-72 was swept and photographed. The area was then covered with protective plastic and reburied to be lifted after the break.
The cut begun yesterday in meters H-I/68-71 was completed to a depth of ca. 100 to 140cm. The soil in the northern half of meters H/68-71 remained galestra with no material found within it. The soil in meters I/68-71 and the southern half of meters H/68-71 was dark brown to light grey in color and contained some pockets of orange disintigrated plaster. One cassetta of worn tile, including some plaster , and a few pieces of impasto pottery
were recovered. A second cut was then completed in meters H-I/68-71, extending the depth of the trench in this area to ca. 120 to 160cm. The soil remained clean galestra in the northern half of meters H/68-71 and dark brown to light grey in the southern half of meters H/68-71 and in meters I/68-71. One sassetta of tile, including some plaster and four pieces of impasto pottery were discovered.
A 25cm cut was also taken in meters L-M/68-71 to a depth of ca. 40cm. The soil was dark brown in color and contained many rocks and small roots. One cassetta of worn tile and one quarter box of impasto sherds were
found in the cut.
