Excavation begins in Locus 6 with a pick pass moving from east to west. Soil is shovelled into buckets for hand-sorting into wheelbarrows. CA90 and CA91 are photographed and covered with geo-text so that soil removed from CA92 can that soil removed from CA92 can now be dumped into these earlier trenches, beginning the backfill process. The previously used dirt dump to the east of CA92 will no longer be used. While hand-sorting dirt into wheelbarrows, various diagnostic bones are found.

Bronze flake
A soil change is noticed while cleaning up from the pick pass. The new deposit is compact, darker brown, and charcoal included, indicating a continuation to the west of the deposit of Locus 5. Hand picks, trowels, and brushes are used to remove the remainder of Locus 6 and reveal the new deposit. Bedrock has become apparent in the western 50 cm of Locus 6. The new deposit slopes down from west to east following the slope of the bedrock. Once the new deposit is revealed, it is swept, clipped, and baulk walled.
